Abel and Basquiat were smokin, watching the news, just getting through another day in the city… But, Basquiat just couldn’t take it anymore, all the violence, social oppression, discrimination and injustice, things like that can burden a soul. Sometimes, it felt like he knew what was coming, like he knew he was gonna become a member of the 27 club. Perhaps that was the only way out he could see… Abel understood Basquiat like no one else, he could comprehend the soul of an artist, as the little guy is a true artist himself, so he knew how much pain there was in each artwork, after all, it’s called PAINting for a reason. Jean-Michel wanted to build up a name for himself, and he most definitely did that.
