Self-criticism is one of the biggest banes and guides for artists. It can cripple your creativity and suffocate your desire to move on and make new things, but it can also steer you in the right direction and help you better yourself. But as Rob Bell said, you must accept your failed pieces and mistakes as the essential part of your creativity. No one is flawless, except for maybe Queen B, and you gotta learn to think that way. Embrace your failure as well as success, they are both crucial parts of you. Like the legendary Pablo Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” We’ve all got it within us, we just gotta let it shine through.
